My 56th collage: Relationship LVI – “I get Agonising Vibrations from The Good old Days.” was completed and posted on November 18, 2012 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. It was made using the album cover from “I Get Around” by The Good Vibrations. (1978 – Disco covers of Beach Boys tracks, mostly lead sung by Luther Vandross.)
This hand cut-and-paste collage took about 8 hours to complete. Some of the notable items of trash include; a map of the Atlanta Zoo found on the ground there, a strip of vintage Tupperware labels, the printer’s color marks from a milk carton, my Delta baggage tags, halo rays from a chocolate wrapper, Financial Times illustration of Conrad Black (found on floor of airplane), Kroger Supermarket receipt (found in the parking lot), an illustration from a lazer level instruction booklet, a Monopoly $20 bill, part of a Gerhard Richter gallery ad, warnings from a cigarette ad, and a magazine clipping from an article on Chinese artist Liu Bolin. etc, etc…
I left this on a wall in Atlanta, Georgia the same day next to the Savannah College of Art & Design Atlanta at 1600 Peachtree Street Northeast. (see photo below)
