RJFC Hits Art Week Miami 2016

I took the opportunity to head down to Miami again for Art Week in December of 2016. I literally got blisters on my feet from walking so much. I managed to meet many great artists and see a lot of inspiring work. Only put up 3 pieces on this visit but I was pretty happy with them. rjfc sticker # 82

RJFC sticker # 82 was made on a CD label using trash from the street. It was completed on 5/12/16 while sitting at the Starbucks on Belcher at SR60 in Clearwater, FL.

relationship CXXI ~ Inside the mind of The most thought-provoking WUNDERLICH Collectible TACO UNDER 21

This, my 121st “relationship” collage was completed on 12/4/16. I used a base of the album cover “Wunderlich Pops 2.”

Then I arranged only trash found on the streets of Miami. I started it while sitting at the Starbucks at 2937 Biscayne Blvd, at the intersection of NE 30th Street on the evening of 12/3/16, then finished it after midnight in my room at an Air BnB apartment in Little Haiti at 335 Northeast 53rd Street.

I left it the morning of 12/4/16 on a wall outside the Lulu Laboratorium on NE 23rd Street at the intersection of NW 1st Place, right beside a SacSix piece of Oprah Winfrey. This was about 2 blocks from Wynwood Walls, and just a block away from Panther Coffee, where I was meeting Colorado artist Frank Kwiatkowski an hour later.

I made it while sitting at the Starbucks on Belcher at SR60 in Clearwater, FL.

The “frame” was completed 9/6/16, by gluing pages from the book to the lid of a shoebox, highlighting random passages, and then spraying them with clearcoat. The cover is affixed to the inside of the frame using magnets.

RJFC sticker # 79 collab w/ Chaos & Bliss

RJFC sticker # 79 was a collaboration with Chaos & Bliss on a USPS Priority Mail “bluetop” label 228 from 2000. It was made on 4/26/16 while sitting at the Carroll Street Cafe in Cabbagetown Atlanta.

It was stuck up the same day in a mini Labeauratoire Sticker Bomb along with GATS, NeverFart, Whups, Artissin, & c0rpse, on an electrical box along Carroll Street beside the Milltown Arms tavern. Also, already on the box were Hosea has a Posse, Maple, Skarz, & more.

RJFC sticker # 75 was completed on a CD label on 1/20/16 while sitting at Starbucks on 4th Street in St. Petersburg, FL.

RJFC sticker # 74 left in Sainte-Flavie Quebec Canada

RJFC sticker # 74 was completed by me on a Priority Mail Label 228 on 1/20/16 while sitting at Starbucks on 4th Street in St. Petersburg, FL.

It was sent to fellow collage & mail artist RF Côté in Quebec, Canada around 3/31/16 along with sticker # 67, & Relationships CXIV & CXV.
RF Côté added his part of the collaboration (seen above) around 4/17/16 including the Hannah Hoch Fan Club stamps.

Relationship CXVII (SEND YOUR FRIENDS TO KILL OR GET KILLED BY LOTTERY)

This was completed on 1/20/16 on a used DVD while sitting at Starbucks on 4th Street in St. Petersburg, FL.
(double sided)

It was sent to fellow collage & mail artist RF Côté in Quebec, Canada around 2/10/16. (the mailing label is actually a Dunkin Donuts “sell by” sticker. I swiped a long strip of them off the counter one day while buying donuts.)
This was the first time I tried to send one of my DVD collages through the mail with just a stamp on it. When I first took it to the post office they wanted to charge me like $14 to send it in an envelope because it was “non bendable”. So I just bought the stamps that it would cost for the weight of a letter and dropped it in a mailbox. It got there just fine! Need to do more of these.
