FANCLUB 13 sticker # 94

Collaboration with Philly artist @faithsfunnn on one of her custom painted “sticker blanks.”

It was made on a (March 2016) Priority Label 228 with trash from the streets, on 4/26/17 while sitting at Barnes & Noble Café at US 19 & Sunset Point in Clearwater, FL.

It was sent on 6/22/17 along with other stickers (# 93 & # 105), to Camden Noir in Savannah for publication in the 2nd Label 228 Project book, which is still looking for a publisher as far as I know.

Relationship CXXIII ~ Dangerous Goods Support Team in Stratford UK.

FANCLUB 13 relationship CXXIII : Dangerous Goods Support Team

Completed on 3/3/17 while sitting at the Starbucks on Belcher at SR60 in Clearwater, FL.
Using trash collaged on a real photo post card I’d made in the Morean Darkroom of a picture I shot in Miami during Art Week in 12/2016.

This piece was sent as Mail Art to be put on display for the Twitter Art Exhibit #twitrartexhibit #TAE17 to benefit Molly Olly’s Wishes (raised more than $20,000) at the Arts House, 14 Rother Street in Stratford Upon Avon, UK. The exhibit opened on 4/1/17 and ran through 4/19/17.

RJFC sticker # 74 left in Sainte-Flavie Quebec Canada

RJFC sticker # 74 was completed by me on a Priority Mail Label 228 on 1/20/16 while sitting at Starbucks on 4th Street in St. Petersburg, FL.

It was sent to fellow collage & mail artist RF Côté in Quebec, Canada around 3/31/16 along with sticker # 67, & Relationships CXIV & CXV.
RF Côté added his part of the collaboration (seen above) around 4/17/16 including the Hannah Hoch Fan Club stamps.

my original collage before collaboration

He then put the sticker up about 4/19/16 on a Bicycle Route sign near the intersection of Boulevard Jacques – Cartier & Avenue de la Gare, in Sainte-Flavie, Quebec, Canada.

Relationship CXVII (SEND YOUR FRIENDS TO KILL OR GET KILLED BY LOTTERY)

This was completed on 1/20/16 on a used DVD while sitting at Starbucks on 4th Street in St. Petersburg, FL.
(double sided)

It was sent to fellow collage & mail artist RF Côté in Quebec, Canada around 2/10/16. (the mailing label is actually a Dunkin Donuts “sell by” sticker. I swiped a long strip of them off the counter one day while buying donuts.)
This was the first time I tried to send one of my DVD collages through the mail with just a stamp on it. When I first took it to the post office they wanted to charge me like $14 to send it in an envelope because it was “non bendable”. So I just bought the stamps that it would cost for the weight of a letter and dropped it in a mailbox. It got there just fine! Need to do more of these.

“This exhibition is the culmination of Performa’s 2015 mail art re-activation project celebrating the work of artist Ray Johnson, “one of the most revered underground artists of the last half of the 20th century.”

As an homage to Johnson, the father of mail art, on the 20th anniversary of his death, Performa (in collaboration with the Ray Johnson Estate) placed a number of the artist’s “templates” back into circulation inviting participants to draw, collage or otherwise “add to” them and then “return” them to Johnson c/o Performa via USPS, the internet or through social media using the hashtag #PleaseAddTo.”
