The first in series of ten altered book pages, each similar yet different.

For the commemoration of my 100th “Relationship” collage, I made a series of 10 (+1 artist’s proof). These were completed in October 2015 using trash, found items, ink, and stenciled spray paint, all on pages from the book “Time to Kill”, a 1953 Popular Library paperback book by Terry Spain. All are mounted on USPS Priority recycled cardboard.

Each example has a different title beginning with “Time to kill…” and then paired with a clipped word or phrase.

Additionally, one phrase is highlighted in pink on each page, and paired with a clipping phrase. There is a horizontal rectangle in the lower half of each page which is a combination of found losing lottery tickets, and pages from a pocket Bible with the word of God printed in red. Each page also has a “spirograph” drawing in two colors, a small piece from paper money of Guyana,  a vertical stripe clipping of a sexy man from a magazine, and a torn box flap showing the printer’s color process control patches.

This piece (Relationship C) was left on 11/22/15 in Key West, Florida. I stuck it on a Key West Citizen Newspaper box beside the (closed) Backspace Bar & Kitchen at the intersection of James St. and Grinnell St.

This collage was left the same day in Bristol, England, on a utility box beside the walking/bike path along St. Philips Causeway, across from the Burger King.

Relationship LXXXI ~ Left in Paris

Ray Johnson Fan Club Relationship LXXXI ~ “Unmanned helicopters help third gender to make Whiskey.” was completed 5/6/2014 while sitting at Starbucks in the Brussels Central Train Station.

It was left on Friday. 9/5/2014 on a utility box at the National Ministry of Education at 72 Rue Regnault in the 13th Arr.

RJFC Relationship LXXX: 1st piece sold at auction.

Still catching up on posting some work from this summer… With the milestone completion of my 80th collage: Relationship LXXX “215 MILLION DOTS IN THE SNOW”, I decided to auction the piece off on eBay and give the profits to charity.

<b>Ray Johnson Fan Club Relationship LXXX ~ “215 MILLION DOTS IN THE SNOW”</b> was completed on 5/6/2014 while sitting at Starbucks in the Brussels Central Train Station. It was made on a 45 record, and this is the first one that had the cool little spacer in the middle.

This piece was sold to Victoria Fasken in Wiltshire UK on June 30, 2014, the first RJFC piece to be sold at auction.

RJFC Sticker # 49 left in Bonn Germany.

RJFC Sticker # 49 was completed in Brussels on 5/6/14 using found trash on a rectangular label.
It was left July 1, 2014 in Bonn, Germany, on the back of a sign beside the bank of the Rhine River, just in front of the old parliament building and the bright red sculpture (1992 “L’Allume” by Mark di Suvero. It shows in the geographical direction of the German capital Berlin.)

Getting up in Amsterdam, Zurich, Milan & Brussels.

It’s spring and I’ve actually been busy for a change. Traveling around with my father on his first visit to Europe, I got up in Amsterdam, Zurich, Milan & Brussels.

It was left in Milan, Italy on 5/1/14, on a phone booth just outside the Milan Central Train Station.
